Reading and Reception for 'The Chaperone: A Novel'

- Laura Moriarty, University of Kansas Assistant Professor of English, will present a reading from her new book "The Chaperone." The novel was inspired by the life of silent-film star and Wichita native Louise Brooks and by the 36-year-old chaperone who accompanied a 15-year-old Brooks to New York in 1922 on the first leg of her journey to stardom. The reading, co-sponsored by Jayhawk Ink and the University of Kansas Department of English, will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.
