Christmas Bird Count for Children

- This Christmas vacation, help make a difference Join us as we leave our warm homes to venture outside with binoculars, bird guides and data sheets in hand to take part in the Second Annual Burr Oak Woods Christmas Bird Count. The data collected allows biologists to study the long-term health and status of bird populations across North America. We will begin the day with Binocular and Bird Identification 101 in the classroom and in the solarium. We will then divide into small groups and head outdoors to count as many species of birds at Burr Oak Woods as we can in two hours. Which group will find the most species or the most unusual bird Reservations begin 12/01; Registration required at 816-228-3766 (Ages 8-17).
