home Spring Batch Breakfast Boost, a Technology Preview + Q&A

What:
This presentation will introduce and demonstrate how batch processing programs are implemented with the Spring Batch framework. While most companies develop and support online applications that supply a user experience, almost all companies have some kind of batch processing needs. Many legacy environments support batch processing using the mainframe and COBOL/RPG. Others roll out their own by writing headless Java applications and implementing a mechanism to schedule and run (i.e. Java main() methods, or use a Java scheduling framework such as Quartz). However, there is not a consistent job definition mechanism, and a challenge is presented in trying to process large data sets and files both efficiently and timely.A collaboration between Accenture and Spring Source, the Spring Batch framework has been designed to enable Java developers to process extremely large data sets with proven batch processing patterns using object oriented programming and the Spring framework.  Who Will Benefit: Managers, Architects, Leads and Developers who are developing software using Java technology.   Presentation TopicsBatch Processing Requirements and HistorySpring Batch Framework Introduction Walk-through Example Spring Batch Program Developing Batch Programs with EclipseSpring Batch Demo  Presenter BioDavid Pitt is a Sr. Solutions Architect and a Managing Partner of Keyhole Software.
