- Kansas City is renowned worldwide for its rich jazz heritage that’s kept alive and moved forward by the likes of Max Groove, a pioneer of smooth jazz. Join us at Chaz to see why Max was named a Missouri State Jazz Treasure. As a recording artist, he has had three albums/CDs in the Top 20 Billboard Jazz charts. As a performer, has toured with the likes of Count Basie, Kool & the Gang, Temptations and Four Tops to name a few. He is considered a living jazz legend in the city where jazz grew up. The Max Groove Trio is featured most Wednesdays and Fridays in Chaz on the Plaza Lounge.
