- At the top of every homeless pet’s wish list is a warm, safe home with a loving family to care for them. For thousands of animals in Kansas City each year, the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter IS their temporary home. Whether they are lost, abandoned, or no longer able to stay in their current homes, these homeless animals are cared for by the dedicated staff and volunteers at the Kansas City Pet Project until their wish is granted. That’s why the KC Pet Project will launch an aggressive “A Home for the Holidays” campaign this Friday, December 14th in an effort to find permanent or temporary homes for 200 dogs and cats this holiday season. From December 14th-23rd you pick any adult dog or cat in the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter
