- Jan. 28 is Data Privacy Day! Are you diligent enough about protecting the personal data of our constituents online? Do you and your colleagues know best practices for complying with HIPAA, FERPA and other privacy laws? Join us in the Big 12 room of the Kansas Unions to discuss privacy and security issues, policies, and solutions for handling sensitive information across the university. Noon to 1 p.m.: Panel discussion regarding everyday data privacy on campus. Bring your own bag lunch; refreshments are available to the first 50 people. Scheduled panel includes: Jane Rosenthal, Director of KU Privacy; Janet Roecker, Associate Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships; and Greg Freix, Lecturer in Information Systems, School of Business. 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: "Ask an Expert!"
