- Join us in celebrating our one year anniversary by participating in World Spay Day 2013 to help prevent companion animal overpopulation. The NAWS Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic is participating in a reduced price sterilization and vaccinations for dogs and cats on Saturday, February 23, 2013. This is available to ALL pet owners in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Pet owners must call to schedule an appointment as space is limited for this date. Please call 816.336.1888 or 1.800.408.5191. This program is part of an advocacy for spaying and neutering of companion animals during “World Spay Day 2013”; World Spay Day is presented by The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International in collaboration with animal welfare organizations, veterinary professionals, businesses, and individuals worldwide to shine a spotlight on spay/neuter as a proven means of saving animals’ lives. Altering pets prevents the birth of unwanted puppies and kittens, thus reducing the number of homeless animals. By taking advantage of this program, qualified Northland citizens can help reduce the number of stray animals in their neighborhoods, and reduce the number of animals that must be euthanized each year. NAWS is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that serves as a coalition for Clay and Platte counties dedicated to educating citizens regarding the humane treatment of animals. NAWS works to create awareness, regarding the need to reduce the number of homeless animals via our low cost spay/neuter program. In the future we hope to build a care and adoption campus so that every animal may live in a safe and caring environment.
