Champion Window in Kansas City, a leading home improvement company, as part of its “Champions of Hope: Closing the Window on Hunger” initiative, will host a food drive on Feb. 16 at its facility at 7920 Marshall Drive in Lenexa, Kan., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. At the food drive, which will benefit Harvesters- The Community Food Network, the regional food bank serving 26 counties across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas, residents that donate packaged goods will have an opportunity to be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes provided by Champion and its local media partners. Several media partners will also be broadcasting live at the event, including KFKF-FM (Country 94.1), KZPT-FM (99.7 The Point), KCMO-FM (94.9 Kansas City’s Greatest Hits) and KMBZ-FM (News Radio 98.1). Prizes include tickets to a Kansas City Royals game, the CoCo Key Water Resort in Kansas City, the Profession Bull Riders at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, a show at The Barn Players Theatre and various restaurant gift certificates. Champion Window launched the “Champions of Hope: Closing the Window on Hunger” initiative in January with a campaign to grow its Facebook community, donating 10 pounds of food for each Facebook “Like” it receives through Feb. 28, up to 200,000 pounds.
